During the previous days, the Serbian team continuously participated in the actions of finding, rescuing and pulling out the victims from the ruins, providing support to local and other teams on the ground.
During their engagement, the Serbian rescue teams rescued three people, one 17-year-old girl was found after 108 hours and pulled out of the ruins by our team, as well as two people who were located using special equipment and with the help of the dog Ziggy, who greatly contributed to the entire rescue operation.
Unfortunately, members of the specialist team also found the bodies of 23 people.
Forty-five firefighters-rescuers with the rescue dog Ziggy, rescue equipment and nine fire engines from Belgrade, Kragujevac, Bor, Novi Sad, Valjevo, Uzice and Nis, were sent to Turkey by order of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Minister of the Interior Bratislav Gasic, immediately after the devastating earthquake in Turkey to help friendly people in Turkey, the statement said.
