"It was with great sadness that I received the news of the passing away of the great writer and creator of the Serbian literary scene, David Albahari. Not only did he contribute to the richness of our cultural scene with his creativity and extraordinary talent, both for adults and the youngest generations, but David Albahari also gave his contribution with his translation skills.
He is the winner of prestigious awards, a member of the highest organisations of societies in our country. A name that will forever remain inscribed in our history.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and personally, I express my condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and admirers," she wrote.
