Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic signed a strategic document with the government of the United Arab Emirates in Dubai today, which formally marks the beginning of negotiations on free trade between Serbia and the UAE.
On that occasion, Momirovic emphasised that the government of Serbia has shown in previous years that it is strongly focused on supporting the private sector and attracting new investments, with the assessment that the free trade agreement with the UAE will further encourage new investments from this very rich country.
He pointed out that economic relations between Serbia and the UAE follow good political relations and take place through trade cooperation, investment projects, as well as through strategic partnerships.
According to him, this can best be seen through the "Belgrade Waterfront" project, the investments of the companies Al Dahra, DP World, which invests in the port of Novi Sad, as well as through many other investments of companies from this country.
This morning in Dubai, as part of a two-day official visit to the UAE, the Minister held a bilateral meeting with Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
