President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic launched today the “Find Me” ("Пронађи ме") emergency system for alerting the public about the disappearance of a minor.
Vucic gave permission to Head of the Command and Operations Centre of the Ministry of the Interior Sasa Stefanovic to send an urgent notification about the start of operation of this system in Serbia.
Previously, the representatives of four ministries in the Palace of Serbia, in the presence of the President of the Republic, signed the Agreement on cooperation in the child abduction alert system.
The agreement was signed between Minister of the Interior Bratislav Gasic and Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanovic, between Gasic and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic, as well as between Gasic and State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Lav Grigorije Pajkic.
The presentation and commissioning of the “Find Me” emergency system was also attended by President of the Centre for Missing and Abused Children Igor Juric, Minister of Health Danica Grujicic and other representatives of Serbian government ministries.
The system will function in several stages – first, the media will stop broadcasting their programmes in the first eight hours every 30 minutes, when a photo of the missing child with basic information will be relayed to the public.
After that, mobile operators will send their users a message about the missing child, together with the link of the website of the Ministry of the Interior.
In addition, the Roads of Serbia public company, Nikola Tesla Airport, bus and train stations will relay information regarding the missing child on their screens.
