Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic visited today the works on the renovation of the Lozionica creative and innovative multifunctional centre.
During the tour, Vucic announced that the works on Lozionica, together with the water tower and footbridge, will be completed by the end of the year, assessing that it will be one of the best places in the city.
Brnabic pointed out that it will be a unique centre in Europe, given that such a centre, as it will be built, exists only in the USA and in Shanghai.
It is a specific centre dedicated to the creative industry, digitalisation, innovation, but also art and culture, which is expected to be one of Belgrade’s attractions.
During the tour of the works, Vucic and Brnabic were told that a tender was being prepared and that a permit had been obtained for the reconstruction of the water tower with its famous appearance.
The works include the reconstruction of Lozionica on all 4,800 square metres, while preserving its recognisable appearance, as well as the water tower and the turning loop.
The construction of a new annex building of 11,000 square metres, with an underground garage and a large park, is also planned.
Lozionica is an industrial heritage that maintains the status of previous protection.
The adaptation and programmatic revival of abandoned industrial heritage buildings is a model that has proven to be extremely productive and sustainable all over the world.
