Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirović stated today at the International Balkan Economic Summit that Serbia's economic cooperation with Turkey and Bulgaria is continuously growing.
On that occasion, Momirović stated that the trade exchange with Turkey is constantly growing, specifying that in the previous year that country was our eighth foreign trade partner with an exchange of €2.3 billion, which further motivates Serbian companies to increase exports to this large market, which has 80 million consumers.
At the same time, bilateral cooperation with Bulgaria in the previous ten years has continuously grown, reaching the amount of €1.8 billion in 2023, the Minister announced.
According to his words, the implementation of joint projects, especially in the field of energy and transport, such as "Turkey Stream" and the Gas Interconnector Serbia-Bulgaria, is of great importance for our further economic development.
The minister assessed that additional space for the improvement of regional economic cooperation should be sought in the association of companies and the promotion of joint business, with a special focus on the markets of countries with which Serbia has concluded agreements on free trade.
New large infrastructure projects like “EXPO 2027” provide an opportunity for all interested companies, including Turkish and Bulgarian ones, to expand their business on the Serbian market, Momirović said.
