During the meeting, Đurić expressed satisfaction with the frequency and continuity of meetings with high-ranking European Union officials, emphasizing that Serbia remains committed to the European path and that full membership in the EU is a strategic orientation and priority of our foreign policy.
The Serbian Foreign Minister reiterated the extremely difficult position of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, who face political disenfranchisement and violations of the most basic human rights by Priština on a daily basis.
He also pointed out that Priština's unwillingness to enable the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities indicates a lack of genuine interest in dialogue on their part.
During his conversation with Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, Đurić highlighted the long-standing good bilateral cooperation between the two countries, noting that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and accordingly, he invited his Polish colleague for an official visit to Serbia.
Speaking about the EU accession process, he pointed out that full membership in the European Union is a strategic commitment and a priority of our country's foreign policy, and thanked Poland for the support it provides in this process.
Đurić informed his interlocutor about current issues in the region, as well as about the dialogue with Pristina and the position of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
The head of Serbian diplomacy thanked Poland for supporting Serbia's candidacy to organise the Specialised World Expo 2027, and invited Polish companies to invest in Serbia, which would further enhance and strengthen the economic cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Benin Olusegun Adjadi Bakari, Đurić pointed out that the two countries have had friendly relations since 1962, and that Serbia is determined to further improve those relations at all levels.
The officials assessed that the mutual visit of the officials of the two countries would be an additional impetus to the strengthening of not only political relations, but also the mutual acquaintance of the peoples.
He reminded that Serbia, as the host, is intensively preparing for holding the Specialised International Exhibition Expo 2027, and invited the Republic of Benin to take part in this prestigious event.
