Serbia consistently follows rules of conduct in international relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić addressed today in Paraguay the participants of the 54th session of the General Assembly of the Organisation of American States, assessing that this organisation is an important factor in building international relations, through defining the political and value agendas of the Western hemisphere.

Speaking at the meeting of the heads of delegations of member states with the heads of delegations of permanent observers at the Organisation of American States, Đurić pointed out that the UN Charter is the foundation on which the world of today needs to be built, saying that Serbia will continue to consistently follow the rules of conduct in international relations that were established by the founding of the UN.

He reminded that, on the anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter, it is important to reaffirm the values contained in that document in all international forums in order to, among other things, guarantee the sovereignty of states, nurture human rights and democratic principles, and ensure more even economic development.

Serbia highly appreciates the efforts made by the Organisation of American States in order to recognize, articulate and translate into concrete programs the needs of the member states in terms of sustainable development, Đurić said.
