Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić participated today in Washington in the business round table of the American-Serbian Business Council (ASBC).
Đurić pointed out that Serbia is a country that is developing at a tremendous speed, and where business opportunities today represent a safe investment for tomorrow, adding that by the end of the year, our country will have received another formal upgrade in its investment rating status.
He said that Serbia is an attractive investment destination with a growth rate of 4.7 percent in the first semester of this year, a growing IT sector and a workforce that is educated and competent.
The Minister stated that the EXPO 2027 event will be held in Serbia, in which approximately $17 billion will be invested, adding that our country has institutions that fight for every foreign investor and the door is wide open for American investments.
CEO of the ASBC and the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA) based in Washington Eric Stewart said that, when it comes to the Western Balkans, there is no better place to do business at the moment than Serbia.
He stated that last year the Association organised a visit of a delegation of American businessmen to Belgrade, which will be held this year as well.
We will continue to strengthen relations between America and Serbia and find ways to do business together in order to increase wages in Serbia, increase investments and create new jobs. We support Serbia's entry into the European Union and we want Serbian-American relations to be at the highest level, Stewart said.
