Begović emphasised the significance of Serbia-France collaboration in this field, noting that it represents a pathway towards building a sustainable future in which science and innovation will play a central role in addressing local and global challenges.
Our cooperation with France is exceptional, starting with scientific collaboration through the Pavle Savić programme, which has been ongoing for over 20 years, and extending to projects under Horizon Europe, the largest European framework programme for science, the Minister stated.
She also stressed the importance of the Mission France programme, which enables Serbia’s top start-ups to enter the global market by leveraging the extensive experience of the French start-up ecosystem – one of the world’s top 10 ecosystems, with more than 30 unicorns.
Cochard stated that the Forum demonstrates the strength of cooperation between the two countries in the field of innovation, with this year’s focus being artificial intelligence.
As part of the Forum’s opening, Begović, Cochard and Director of the French Institute in Serbia Stanislas Pierret signed Annex No. 1 to the Agreement on Cooperation between the Embassy of the Republic of France in Serbia, the French Institute and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation.
This agreement provides support to beneficiaries of the Young Talent Fund.
This year’s Serbia-France Innovation Forum has gathered more than 300 researchers and entrepreneurs from both countries to share best practices and knowledge in the fields of innovation and start-ups.
