Germany one of most important political, economic partners of Serbia

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić expressed today, during the talks with German Ambassador to Serbia Anke Konrad, the expectation that the two countries will continue to cooperate on the development of the Western Balkans and the preservation of regional stability.

Emphasising that Germany is one of the most important political and economic partners of Serbia, Đurić said that our country is clearly committed to full membership in the European Union, and that will remain its strategic goal, and on that path, as well as in the process of realising our reform agenda, it counts on Germany's support.

In this sense, the efforts made within the Berlin Process to promote cooperation in the region are very important for Serbia, the Minister pointed out and at the same time accepted the invitation to participate in the ministerial meeting of that process in Berlin at the beginning of October.

The interlocutors also addressed a number of current regional issues and the head of Serbian diplomacy said that Serbia will continue to be a reliable pillar of regional stability.

Through a benevolent and credible foreign policy, in cooperation with foreign partners, Serbia will strive to contribute to the progress of the entire Western Balkans by working on its own development and developing good-neighbourly cooperation, Đurić concluded.
