Invitation to countries of Pacific region to participate in Expo 2027

On the sidelines of the Pacific Islands Forum leaders' meeting which is being held in the Kingdom of Tonga, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić hosted a dinner for the participants and guests of the meeting, at which he presented Belgrade’s preparations for the specialised exhibition Expo 2027.

Speaking in front of approximately 200 guests, Đurić pointed out that Serbia is a country that is rapidly developing economically and wants to maintain and upgrade relations with friends around the world, for which it can be a gateway to Europe.

He stated that Serbia had the honour of organising the Expo 2027 exhibition, where, among other things, great attention will be paid to topics of greatest interest to the countries of the Pacific region, such as sustainable development and dealing with climate change.

At the dinner, the Prime Minister of Tonga Siaosi Sovaleni and Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Baron Waqa addressed the guests, and Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Tonga Tupoutoʻa ʻUlukalala and his wife were also present, as well as a large number of heads of state and government and foreign ministers from the Pacific region, as well as high-ranking officials of the countries participating in the meeting as partners, observers or special guests.
