At today’s session, the government adopted the Bill amending the Law on the budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2024.
The bill envisages total revenues of RSD 2,173.4 billion, an increase of RSD 132.5 billion, or 6.5%, compared to the original budget.
The Ministry of Finance has revised upwards its projection of economic growth, with gross domestic product (GDP) now forecast to expand 3.8%, up from the originally projected 3.5%.
The growth amounts to RSD 8,946.2 billion, or €76.3 billion, in absolute terms.
The budget revision bill envisages increased outlays for capital investments, the protection of families and children, health care, agriculture, environmental protection, education, culture, defence, and more.
At today’s session, the government also adopted the Bill amending the Law on financial support for families with children, which envisages increasing parental allowance and the lump sum for purchasing gear for children born on or after 1 January 2024.
The government passed a decision to mark 3 and 4 May as Days of Remembrance for the Victims of Mass Murders.
Furthermore, the government adopted a Report on the work of the Working Group for the establishment of a Memorial Centre for the victims of the mass murder at the Vladislav Ribnikar Experimental Primary School for the period from 8 June to 6 September 2024.
Documents adopted at the session encompass a Conclusion on the adoption of a Programme to support the implementation of measures aimed at preventing domestic and peer violence, for which RSD 55 million has been allocated.
A Bill on railway transport safety, which defines conditions that the railway system in the Republic of Serbia must meet to ensure the appropriate level of safety and the railway system concept, was also adopted at today's session.
