Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović stated today that Serbia is ready for winter in terms of energy, but that developments on the natural gas and electricity markets resulting from the situation in Ukraine are cause for concern when it comes to gas prices and availability.

Speaking at the Central and South-Eastern Europe Energy Connectivity (CESEC) High-Level Group ministerial meeting in Budapest, Đedović Handanović noted that in the last few weeks the price of gas on the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) has increased by about 15%, reaching €42 per MWh.
The Minister pointed out that precisely because of this and the forecast that this coming winter will not be as mild as the previous one, a detailed analysis of all possible scenarios is needed, alongside a proposal of measures to protect ourselves from fluctuations in fuel and energy prices and availability.
