Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić talked in Bucharest today with Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu.
Voicing his satisfaction over today’s meeting, Đurić conveyed Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s regards, underlining that this visit will give an additional impetus to the relations between the two countries.
He said that Serbia and Romania are bound by traditional historical friendship and added that our country is committed to deepening cooperation and expanding dialogue in all areas.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed special thanks for Romania’s continuous support for Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, that is, for its consistent and principled position to not recognise the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.
Đurić stated that full membership in the European Union is a strategic commitment and a priority of Serbia’s foreign policy and thanked Romania for the support it gives us on that path.
When it comes to economic cooperation, the head of Serbian diplomacy noted that economic relations between Serbia and Romania have significant room for additional development.
According to him, economic cooperations needs to be developed further through the implementation of important projects, especially in the field of energy and infrastructure.
During today’s meeting with the Romanian Prime Minister, Đurić also exchanged opinions on current global topics and issues of common interest.
