Minister for European Integration Tanja Miščević met today with Director of the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Erin Mackey, expressing her gratitude to the United States for the assistance to our country, which has amounted to more than $1.2 billion since 2001.

Miščević explained that over $937 million of that amount was earmarked for development purposes.
The Minister said that she had discussed the next budget period from 2026 to 2031 with partners from USAID, in order to jointly define priorities for further support, which will be formalised through a new cooperation strategy between the two countries.
According to her, the common goal is for USAID’s development assistance to be additional support for reforms that are crucial for Serbia’s membership in the EU.
