Raising economic cooperation with Russian Federation to qualitatively new level

Belgrade/St. Petersburg, 21 November 2024

The Office of Minister without portfolio in charge of international economic cooperation and the social position of the church in the country and abroad Nenad Popović stated that a meeting of working groups within the Intergovernmental Serbian-Russian Committee for Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technological Cooperation was held in St. Petersburg.

The Serbian delegation was led by Minister Popović, while the co-chairman from the Russian side was Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maksim Reshetnikov.

On that occasion, the Protocol of the 20th Session of the Intergovernmental Serbian-Russian Committee for Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technological Cooperation was signed, which includes the areas of development of trade-economic relations, cooperation in the field of energy, electric power, renewable energy sources, high technologies and innovations, as well as culture, science and education, agriculture and other.

Popović pointed out that steps have been identified that will raise the economic cooperation between the two countries to a qualitatively new level, for which the potential is enormous.

On the sidelines of the Intergovernmental Serbian-Russian Committee, the Memorandum on Cooperation in the Field of Safety and Health at Work and the Memorandum on Cooperation between Joint Stock Company Transneft and Transnafta AD Pančevo were signed.
