Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Emil Hurezeanu.
Đurić congratulated his Romanian counterpart on assuming office and expressed satisfaction with the meeting and the opportunity to discuss enhancing cooperation and current issues of importance to the two neighbouring countries.
He emphasised that relations between Serbia and Romania are an example of traditional friendship, closeness and understanding, with no outstanding issues, noting that Serbia is committed to deepening cooperation and expanding dialogue in all areas of mutual interest.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed gratitude for Romania’s continued support for Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its consistent and principled stance on non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.
He also conveyed that Serbia greatly values Romania’s support for its European integration and added that regional cooperation is one of Serbia’s foreign policy priorities.
Đurić expressed hope that Romania would participate in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade and showcase itself in the best possible light at the event.
During today’s meeting, which was also attended by Minister of European Integration Tanja Miščević, Hurezeanu extended his congratulations on Serbia’s Statehood Day.
