Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić stated today that Serbia has sent a message at the Munich Security Conference that it is a stable country, focused on the future and open for business.
Wrapping up his participation in the conference, Đurić noted that Serbia’s delegation held meetings with numerous officials from around the world, during which praise was expressed for the economic achievements of Serbia and the team led by the President of the Republic.
The Minister noted that during the two-day conference, he engaged in a series of highly significant discussions with US and other officials, including a meeting with U.S. Presidential Envoy for Special Missions Richard Grenell.
It is very important for us to use the changes in US politics as an opportunity to usher in a new era in relations between our country and our region and the United States, and we are working responsibly to achieve this, while prioritising Serbian interests across the region, Đurić emphasised.
He added that he also held discussions today with the foreign ministers of Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Albania, noting that in this period of global turbulence and challenges, it is of great importance for Serbia that peace and stability be preserved in the region.
I am convinced that this could be a year of closer cooperation within the region. Despite all the historical challenges, I think that our region has great potential to become a driving force for Europe’s development, and Serbia has already proven that it is, Đurić concluded.
