President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić presented 87 awards today to distinguished individuals and institutions as part of celebrations to mark Sretenje – Serbia’s Statehood Day.
The ceremony held at the Palace of Serbia began with the national anthem “Bože pravde”.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and government ministers, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić, the President’s spouse Tamara Vučić, Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia Ivan Stoilković, and representatives of the Serb people from the region, religious communities and the diplomatic corps.
Yesterday, Serbia marked Statehood Day with a series of events commemorating 15 February 1804, the beginning of the First Serbian Uprising, and 15 February 1835, the adoption of Serbia’s first constitution, known as the Sretenje Constitution.
