At the meeting, held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Đurić stated that relations between Serbia and NATO are based on partnership cooperation, in accordance with the policy of military neutrality of our country, but with openness to further improving this cooperation in all areas of common interest.
The Minister assessed that regular dialogue between Serbia and NATO contributes to better mutual understanding on the most important issues, especially when it comes to the need to preserve peace in Kosovo and Metohija and the security of the Serbian people on the ground.
He stressed that Serbia supports the engagement of international forces in the province in the strict, full and impartial implementation of the mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
According to him, Serbia expects KFOR to maintain a status-neutral position and to act proactively to prevent any violation of the security situation on the ground.
