Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begović delivered a speech at the Serbian Embassy in Paris ahead of Serbian Statehood Day as part of her official visit to France.
On this occasion, Begović highlighted the cultural and historical value of the celebration of Statehood Day and recalled the centuries-old friendship between Serbia and France.
She noted that the adoption of the Sretenje Constitution in 1835 demonstrated Serbia’s commitment to freedom, justice and philanthropy.
Begović stated that this spirit of liberty and patriotism also guided Serbia when, alongside its French allies, it secured freedom in the First World War and restored its statehood.
She emphasised that discussions on artificial intelligence, biotechnology, innovation and science today reflect Serbia’s progress and its positioning among the world’s most developed nations.
The reception was attended by Serbian Ambassador to France Ana Hrustanović, French Minister Delegate for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad, Serbian Chamber of Commerce President Marko Čadež and other officials from Serbia and France.
