National Security Council expresses concern over situation in Republika Srpska

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić stated that at today's session of the National Security Council, President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić presented seven points and conclusions on the verdict against President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, which were unanimously accepted.

Speaking at a press conference after the Council session, chaired by Vučić, Dačić reported that members of that body condemned the verdict against Dodik, and then called for a calm reaction because this is important given the current situation, as well as for respect for the Dayton Agreement and the unity and solidarity of our entire people and all political parties in both Republika Srpska and Serbia.

He pointed out that participants in the session expressed great concern regarding the situation in Republika Srpska, following the verdict against Dodik, and that they assessed that this is the biggest crisis since the end of the war.

The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the Secretary of the National Security Council, said that Vučić had left for Banja Luka, where he will talk with Dodik.

The Council session was also attended by Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, Minister of Justice Maja Popović, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić, Chief of the General Staff Milan Mojsilović, Serbian parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić and Director of the Security and Intelligence Agency Vladimir Orlić.
