Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petković pointed today to the large number of unilateral, unlawful and violent actions by Priština, which confirm on a daily basis the human and political disenfranchisement of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.

Petković discussed the political and security situation in Kosovo and Metohija with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK Caroline Ziadeh in the context of the upcoming regular session of the UN Security Council, at which the mission’s report will be presented.
He emphasised that, in the previous period, the authorities in Priština closed a number of Serbian institutions across the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, specifically those that should serve as the basis for the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, which has jeopardised the payment of salaries, pensions and other social benefits to the Serb population, threatening their very elementary existence.
During the talks, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija also addressed numerous irregularities and manipulations of votes in the provincial elections, which have seriously called into question the electoral will of Serb voters.
