Belgrade insists on full implementation of agreements reached on Kosovo and Metohija

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petković informed today EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Priština Dialogue Peter Sørensen about the difficult situation of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the problems in the Belgrade-Priština dialogue.

Petković emphasised that at this moment, the most important issue for us is the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, as a key element of the dialogue so far.

He told his interlocutor that the Priština regime had previously forcibly and illegally closed a number of Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija, which were intended as a base for the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, in what clearly sent a message that Priština is not even considering establishing the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Petković pointed out that all of Albin Kurti’s moves are leading to the final expulsion of Serbs and the achievement of his long-standing dream of an ethnically pure “Kosovo”.

Also, during the conversation, the Director of the Office drew attention to the complete deprivation of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija and to the daily practice of terror and violence against Serbs, which is openly carried out by the regime in Priština.

He concluded that it is quite clear that with unilateral and unlawful moves, Priština is escalating the situation on the ground, obstructing the continuation of the dialogue and questioning progress in the process of normalising the relations.
