Truth about difficult situation of Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija presented at UN SC session

Outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić stated last night, after the UN Security Council session, that 26 years after the NATO attack on our country and 17 years after the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo and Metohija, the international community is becoming increasingly aware that what happened in Kosovo and Metohija is a dangerous precedent.

After the session at which the report of the UN Secretary-General on the work of UNMIK for the period from September last year to March this year was discussed, Đurić said that the Security Council suffers the consequences every day in different regions of the world from the dangerous precedent set by the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo and Metohija.

The Minister underlined that the truth about the difficult situation of Serbs and the threat to collective human rights in Kosovo and Metohija could be heard at the UN Security Council session.

He pointed out that Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK Caroline Ziadeh presented a very detailed and serious report on the events in Kosovo and Metohija, which is very accusatory of the Priština authorities and which lists in detail all the unlawful attacks on Serbs and Serbian institutions.
