Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia Li Ming.
Ming presented Đurić with a congratulatory letter from Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi regarding Đurić’s re-election as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
Đurić thanked for the good wishes, emphasising that in the upcoming mandate, one of his priorities will be to continue building Serbian-Chinese friendship and deepening cooperation, both in the political and economic spheres.
Noting that the cooperation between our two countries is characterised by intensive political dialogue, Đurić said that Serbia is committed to working on improving the overall strategic partnership, and added that the extraordinary relations between presidents Aleksandar Vučić and Xi Jinping are particularly contributing to the iron-clad friendship between our countries and peoples.
Đurić thanked the People’s Republic of China for its principled position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as for its consistent support for preserving Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, emphasising that such support is equally important to us, both bilaterally and in international organisations.
The head of Serbian diplomacy noted that Chinese companies make a great contribution to the development of Serbia, and expressed particular satisfaction with the fact that economic cooperation is being implemented in the areas of road and railway infrastructure and energy, as well as in the field of investments, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
