The most important fair of weapons and military equipment in South East Europe "Partner 2019" has been opened today in the Hall 4 of the Belgrade Fair, at which the latest achievements of the Serbian military industry are displayed.
The opening of this event, which features 128 exhibitors - 96 from Serbia and 32 from abroad - was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, as well by as numerous local and foreign guests.
Vucic expressed his satisfaction with what can be seen at the fair and said that the state will provide continued assistance to the military industry.
After the official opening of the fair, the President visited the presentations and then attended the signing of the Service Centre Agreement between the Moma Stanojlovic Air Force Institute and Airbus.
On this occasion, Vucic and Airbus CEO Bruno Even unveiled the first of the nine helicopters H145M purchased for the army and the police of Serbia.
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin pointed out that the first and main task of the defence industry of Serbia is development and economy, but above all, equipping, arming and preparing the Serbian Armed Forces for its task - defence of freedom.
The Minister pointed out that the military industry of Serbia had export of more than $500 million last year, whereas in 2011, the export was three times smaller.
He pointed out that there are few peoples in the world that know, as the Serbian people knows, what freedom is, and that few are ready to do what it takes for freedom, adding that we know that there is no freedom without a modern, powerful, successful and equipped army.
At the ninth "Partner" arms fair, 400 exhibits are displayed that were designed by the Military Technological Institute. These are, among others, the aircraft model "Owl", unmanned aerial vehicle "Hornet", reconnaissance drone "Pegaz", remote controllable off-road platform "Milos".
The fair will be open to citizens until 28 June.
