Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today in the National Assembly, answering the questions of the deputies, that from 1 May, all citizens who have been vaccinated will receive a digital COVID certificate.
Brnabic pointed out that Serbia has established an excellent IT system from the beginning of the process, which enables the issuance of electronic certificates, which should enable the travel of vaccinated citizens.
She said that until today, at 3 pm, a total of 2,150,280 citizens have been vaccinated in Serbia, at least with one dose, which is above 30 percent of the total adult population.
The second dose of the vaccine, as she added, was received by 1,462,125 citizens, which is 25.6 percent of the adult population.
So far there are 1,265,974 of completely immunised citizens, or 20.2 percent of the adult population, she said.
The Prime Minister said that Serbia will soon have about 40% of the vaccinated population, which is good, but at the same time she pointed out that there are big differences between cities and municipalities.
The most successful is Belgrade, especially the central city municipalities. In Stari Grad, more than 62 percent of the total adult population was vaccinated, in Savski Venac 61 percent, in Vracar about 60 percent, she noted.
The weakest vaccination is in the municipality of Tutin, with only eight percent of the adult population, followed by Novi Pazar, Lajkovac, Ljig, Zagubica, Merosina, Brnabic reported.
Also, as she pointed out, the highest level of vaccination is in the population aged between 65 and 74, with more than 60 percent, which is great, because this is an endangered category.
52 percent of people over the age of 75 have been vaccinated, but a lot still needs to be done for those under the age of 35, the Prime Minister concluded.
