Prime Minister Miloš Vučević stated today at the opening of the Oracle SaaS Vision 2025 conference that cooperation with Oracle, which is of great benefit for attracting foreign investments, is of strategic interest for Serbia.
Speaking at the Fruške Terme Hotel in Vrdnik, Vučević recalled that the company opened the first Oracle Cloud regional centre in Southeast Europe at the State Data Centre in Kragujevac, noting that cooperation with the global IT giant was established in 2018.
The Prime Minister noted that Oracle is one of the most prestigious companies in the US and assessed that cooperation with the company will provide additional impetus for strengthening cooperation with Washington, in efforts to better position Serbia both regionally and towards the United States.
Vučević said that Serbia will continue to develop the Data Centre in Kragujevac, which has received significant investments in infrastructure and human resources.
Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment Mihajlo Jovanović stated that the Prime Minister has provided significant support to all Oracle projects of Oracle, which play a key role in Serbia’s digital transformation.
Cooperation with the company confirms Serbia’s substantial efforts and work, which have positioned the country as a leader in the Western Balkans in terms of digitalisation, Jovanović said, noting that Serbia was the first country in Southeast Europe to implement the Oracle Cloud technology.
According to him, more than 40 projects have been implemented so far, with approximately 300 terabytes of disk space, and the development of artificial intelligence projects is expected soon.
Jovanović announced that a single healthcare system network will be formed in the next two years, adding that the migration of data to Oracle Cloud has eliminated the need for equipment maintenance, which allows doctors to focus more on patients.
