Prime Minister Miloš Vučević is on a two-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was welcomed in East Sarajevo by Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković and the city’s Mayor Ljubiša Ćosić.
At a meeting with his hosts, Vučević emphasised that East Sarajevo stands as a testament to the resilience of the Serb people in this region, telling his interlocutors that they have the support of Serbia and its state leadership.
The Prime Minister then visited the University of East Sarajevo, where, in the new building of the Rectorate, he met with the institution’s Rector Milan Kulić and his associates.
According to him, the University of East Sarajevo is the successor to everything that Serbs, as an indigenous people, represent in Sarajevo.
Vučević, together with Višković, also visited the Memorial Complex dedicated to the Serb civilian victims of the Sarajevo-Romanija region in the 20th century and laid a wreath in the presence of the Army Guard.
The Memorial Complex is one of the most important projects in the area of the culture of remembrance in East Sarajevo.
An expert team, led by Professor Drago Mastilović, worked to collect information about the Serb civilian casualties in Sarajevo and the Sarajevo-Romanija region in the 20th century, gathering data on more than 10,000 victims.
