Prime Minister Miloš Vučević met today with Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev to discuss cooperation in the fields of energy, healthcare and other strategic sectors.
Vučević emphasised that there is potential for cooperation in the fields of nuclear medicine and advanced technologies, which are particularly important for the development of radiotherapy and diagnostic capacities in oncology and cardiology, as well as modernising Serbia’s healthcare sector.
Bearing in mind that the needs of the economy and citizens are increasing due to development, the Prime Minister also pointed out the importance of nuclear energy and the importance of energy security for Serbia.
Likhachev emphasised the importance of the Russian state atomic energy corporation in the global nuclear energy industry and offered assistance in the implementation of future projects in Serbia.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the Serbian government will continue to work on creating a favourable environment for the implementation of joint projects in these important sectors.
He also said that work will continue on strengthening expert capacities in Serbia, as well as on developing infrastructure that will provide long-term benefits for the citizens of Serbia.
