Prime Minister Miloš Vučević today met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Badr Abdelatty, ahead of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of water resources and irrigation.
Vučević assessed that Serbia and Egypt share traditionally friendly relations, which serve as a solid foundation for improving cooperation at all levels, and above all for fostering stronger ties of the two economies.
He stated that Serbia greatly appreciates Egypt’s support at the international level and added that both countries have an equal responsibility for preserving the stability of their regions.
Egypt has significant influence and numerous investments in African countries, Abdelatty said, emphasising that Serbia is a desirable partner for projects in that market.
Given Egypt’s status as one of the strongest economies in the Arab world, Vučević invited Egyptian companies to invest in Serbia, particularly in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, energy and information technology.
The Prime Minister also extended an invitation to participate in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, which for Serbia, according to him, represents a major development chance and an opportunity to showcase its full potential.
The Memorandum of Understanding in the field of water resources and irrigation was signed by Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Martinović and Abdelatty, on behalf of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
