Prime Minister Miloš Vučević stated today in Sarajevo that Serbia will continue to support the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serb people wherever they live, as well as to assist the further development of East Sarajevo as the centre of Serbs in that part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically in Republika Srpska.

Following a meeting with Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia, Vučević said that Serbia, together with the Government of Republika Srpska, continues to restore the Church of the Holy Trinity in Mostar and that it will also continue to support the Metropolitanate of Dabar-Bosnia.
According to him, the Metropolitanate and the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in Sarajevo are confirmation that the Serb community is an inseparable part of the city’s history and its development.
He expressed hope that the Metropolitanate will remain and survive in Sarajevo, despite the fact that, due to everything that happened in this city in the 1990s, few Serbs remained to live in it.
Where the seats of the patriarchates, metropolitanates and the episcopates are historically established, the church must remain and continue to preserve life, Vučević said.
