Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended a solemn state ceremony marking Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia – Sretenje at St. George’s Church in Oplenac.
Brnabic, together with Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Viskovic, attended the service in the Church of St. George, which was officiated by Bishop Jovan of Sumadija on the occasion of celebrating the Statehood Day.
After the service, the Prime Minister and Viskovic laid a wreath on the sarcophagus of Karadjordje.
Wreaths were also laid by Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nikola Selakovic, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, members of the Karadjordjevic family, as well as representatives of the King Petar the First Endowment.
After laying the wreaths, with the anthem "God's Justice" played by the military band, the officials also paid tribute to the Serbian ancestors in front of the church.
