Minister for European Integration Tanja Miscevic and Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro Maida Gorcevic announced today that the two countries have been successfully cooperating for 15 years within the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, with the support of the EU, and that cooperation will continue through the programme framework of IPA III.

Miscevic and Gorcevic participated in the final conference of the IPA II Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia and Montenegro 2014-2020 in Podgorica, where the results of projects implemented during the financial perspective of IPA II were promoted, with the aim of improving the quality of life of citizens living in 14 northern municipalities in Montenegro and three districts in western Serbia.
Miscevic said that the two countries, by signing a new financial agreement and working on the promotion of new calls in the IPA III financial perspective, will have 8.4 million euros available through two thematic programs.
Gorcevic specified that during the financial cycle, which covered the period from 2014 to 2020, 28 projects with a total value of over €7.7 million were contracted, of which the EU's contribution was €6.4 million.
EU Ambassador to Montenegro Oana Cristina Popa pointed out that the European Union is proud to have supported these projects, because they significantly improved the lives of people living in the areas covered by the programme.
The IPA II Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia - Montenegro 2014-2020 is implemented in the territory of 14 municipalities in Montenegro, as well as in the territory of Raska, Zlatibor and Moravica districts in Serbia.
