Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić hosted today 50 master's and PhD students from Harvard University at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Đurić welcomed the students and expressed his satisfaction that the students are starting their acquaintance with the Balkans by visiting our country.
You are coming at a time when our country is being talked about in superlatives. With a firm and clear commitment to EU membership and further strengthening of its international image based on concrete results, merits and successes, Serbia sovereignly leads the region in terms of economic and infrastructural development, Đurić said.
The head of Serbian diplomacy also assessed that study visits like this one are of essential importance, not only for presenting the political and economic situation in Serbia, our priorities on the foreign and domestic front, but also the plans and activities of our country in the coming period, especially in in the areas of IT industry, economy, biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
Such visits are an opportunity for you, young professionals and experts, to get to know firsthand our state apparatus and the functioning of institutions, but also our people and the hospitality for which we are known in the world, added the head of Serbian diplomacy.
The study trip of students from Harvard is realized for the second time as part of the "Balkan trek" programme, and gathers participants from over 20 countries from all continents except Africa, among which the most numerous students are from the USA, China and India.
The students will stay in our region until May 19, and after Serbia, they will also visit Montenegro and Albania.
