Vučević, at the beginning of the joint session of the two governments, said that a lot of work awaits them in numerous areas, but above all in the preservation of cultural and spiritual identity.
We will work together with colleagues from Republika Srpska, but also with representatives of the Serbian people in Montenegro and North Macedonia. We give full support to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, in implementing the declaration that will be adopted today, which the government will present to the Parliament for approval in the next 90 days, he said.
At the beginning of the session, the Prime Minister presented for adoption the agenda and minutes from the previous joint session, which were unanimously adopted.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that on Monday, Serbia will pay €10 million for the construction of the Bijeljina - Sremska Rača highway.
Vučić pointed out that it is necessary for Serbia to fight for peace and the progress of its own economy, while today we fought for the unity of the people.
The Serbian national interest is the economy, without which there is neither the preservation of the Cyrillic alphabet nor the preservation of the language. The economy is the essence and the first point of national security, he said.
The President said that this is an area in which more work must be done with everyone in the region - Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Pristina within CEFTA, but also with all European partners.
Vučić said that Serbia must be open to talk with everyone, adding that the declaration also clearly talks about the European perspective.
According to him, there is one point in the declaration that talks about preserving our traditional friendships, which we have always been able to preserve even in the most difficult times.
At the same time, he noted that Serbia and Republika Srpska have never violated the agreement reached 10 years ago and that regardless of different opinions, relations between Serbia and Srpska must never suffer.
Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković assessed that today is a historic day, and in that sense expressed his gratitude to Serbia for its support towards all Serbs who do not live in the mother country, but are outside the borders.
President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said at the joint session that the declaration that will be adopted today will be a historic and essential national document that rehabilitates Serbian national interests.
The declaration includes all important aspects of our relations, and among them is the fact that we will mark 15 February as the Day of Republika Srpska, and 9 January will be the day of the establishment of Republika Srpska, Dodik said.
