Great opportunities for strengthening cooperation with Brazil in field of agriculture

Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Serbia José Mauro da Fonseca Costa Couto discussed today the improvement of bilateral relations and deepening of cooperation, primarily in the field of agriculture and economy.

Vučević expressed his gratitude to Brazil for its restrained attitude during the vote on the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly, and said that this resolution will not contribute to the stabilization of conditions in the region, nor to the improvement of relations between the Serb and Bosniak people.

The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for Brazil's principled support for Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

He pointed out that he sees room for improvement of bilateral cooperation especially in the field of agriculture, stressing that Serbia is traditionally an agricultural country, as well as that we can use the experience of Brazil to increase livestock.

There is also room for improving cooperation in the field of biofuel production, with which Brazil has rich experience and knowledge, Vučević stated and added that such production helps preserve the environment.

The Ambassador pointed out that Brazil is the second largest producer of bio-fuels in the world, announcing that the embassy of that country will organize a business seminar in Belgrade at the end of October, where one of the main topics will be the production of bio-fuels.
