Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović signed today in Kladovo, on behalf of the government of Serbia, a Memorandum of Understanding with Minister of Energy of Romania Sebastian Burduja, regarding the construction of a gas interconnector.

The construction of the gas pipeline will provide another direction of natural gas supply, connecting the Mokrin hub in Serbia with the BRUA transport gas pipeline in Romania.
In Serbia, this two-way gas pipeline for the transmission of natural gas will be 13 kilometres long, in Romania it will be approximately 86 kilometres long. The projected capacity is at least 1.6 billion cubic metres of gas, and the section on the Serbian side will have been completed by 2027.
This project represents a big step in strengthening the energy security of the two countries and integrating the regional market by diversifying supply routes.
