Collaboration between Science and Technology Park Belgrade and Ottawa-based Samuel Institute

Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begović is leading an official visit of Serbia’s delegation to Canada, during which a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Science and Technology Park Belgrade and the Samuel Institute from Ottawa.

The memorandum was signed by Director of the Science and Technology Park Belgrade Gordana Danilović Grković and Goran Samuel Pesic, President and CEO of the Samuel Institute, a Canadian organisation dedicated to the advancement of technological innovation and commercialisation.

This document provides a framework for more intensive cooperation between the two parties, which brings new opportunities for start-ups and technology companies in Serbia to expand to international markets and opens the door for direct connections with the Canadian technology and innovation ecosystem.

At the signing ceremony, Begović noted that the goal of the memorandum is for Serbian start-ups, seeking launch in the global and - above all - the North American market, to gain knowledge, skills and education on how to approach such a powerful and highly competitive market.

The Samuel Institute will provide Serbian start-ups with the very knowledge they lack, she said, adding that this is the first step toward more extensive cooperation with this institution, which can help the country’s start-up ecosystem to achieve success in this area, according to the statement from the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation.
