Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović held talks today with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Donal McGettigan.
At the meeting, held as part of the fourth review under the ongoing stand-by arrangement between Serbia and the fund, Đedović Handanović said that the country is well-prepared for the upcoming heating season, noting that hydropower reserves are at two times the level in 2022, with coal reserves also doubled compared to the same year.
The Minister presented an investment plan adopted by the government to the IMF mission, which covers the completion of the B3 unit of the Kostolac thermal power plant; the construction of solar power facilities with a total capacity of 1 GW, to be owned by power company Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS); the construction of new pumped-storage hydropower plants; and the overhaul of units at hydropower plants and thermal power plants.
McGettigan praised reporting on the implementation of agreed measures, as well as the overall results in the energy sector.
