Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský about bilateral relations, improvement of cooperation and regional issues.
Vučević emphasised that relations between the two countries reached the highest point of development in recent history primarily owing to mutual understanding, trust and dedication to strengthening the partnership.
The Prime Minister stated that today’s visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic represents a new page in traditionally good relations.
He pointed out that the investment climate has improved significantly in recent years, and that Serbia is now among the most attractive countries for investments in the Western Balkans, and he invite Czech companies to invest in Serbia.
Vučević emphasised that the potential for strengthening economic cooperation, based on the traditional friendship and closeness of the two peoples, is in the areas of the energy sector, sustainable development and infrastructure projects.
The Prime Minister invited Czech companies to be partners at Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, which he assessed as an opportunity to position Serbia as a country of opportunities.
The Prime Minister expressed his concern about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the activities that Albin Kurti and the administration in Priština are taking against the Serb population.
The Prime Minister reiterated that dialogue is the only way to achieve a sustainable solution to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and added that international pressure on Priština is necessary for the dialogue with Belgrade to be continued and the terror against Serbs stopped.
He pointed out that the position of the Serbs is further threatened by the decision of the Priština authorities to ban the use of the dinar in Kosovo and Metohija, which greatly complicates the life of our citizens in the southern Serbian province and distances them from the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Serbia's goal is to preserve peace and stability in the region.
Vučević expressed his gratitude for the strong and continuous support that the Czech Republic provides to Serbia in the process of European integration at the highest political level and for the perseverance in the position on the need of the European Union’s enlargement.
Lipavský said that cooperation between the two countries, which is traditionally good, can be further enhanced in the fields of economy and energy.
He pointed out that the Czech Republic supports the continuation of dialogue between Belgrade and Priština and added that dialogue is the only way to reach a solution acceptable to both sides.
