Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nemanja Starović led a state ceremony of honouring and laying wreaths at the Monument to Soviet Pilots on Avala on the occasion of commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade in World War II.

Starović recalled that thanks to the courage and heroism shown by the Russian pilots we live in peace today.
The minister said that we must never forget that the war was justified, defensive, against invaders who ruthlessly plundered our lands, destroyed towns and villages and killed the population.
Wreaths were also laid by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, the City of Belgrade, SUBNOR, as well as the embassies of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to Serbia.
