Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić said during talks with President of the Committee for Foreign Affairs and Defence in the Senate of the Republic of Italy Stefania Craxi today that Serbia is committed to the peaceful resolution of all issues through talks with Priština.

The goal is to improve the lives of all citizens in Kosovo and Metohija, while safeguarding Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with full respect for UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement.
He pointed out that the unilateral moves of the provisional institutions of self-government in Priština, coupled with numerous ethnically motivated incidents against the Serb population, have led to a humanitarian crisis and jeopardised the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
The Minister stressed that Serbia remains utterly committed to the promotion of peace and dialogue, as well as preserving stability in the region.
Serbia appreciates the long-standing presence of the Italian Armed Forces in the KFOR mission and the great contribution to the protection of Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija, particularly churches and monasteries, said Gašić.
