Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić spoke today, on the sidelines of the 15th Sir Bani Yas Forum, which is being held in the United Arab Emirates, with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Badr Abdelatty.
Referring to the significant jubilee that our two countries celebrated last year – the 115th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Đurić reiterated Serbia’s determination to further strengthen relations and deepen cooperation with Egypt in all domains.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed particular satisfaction with the high intensity of meetings between our officials at all levels in the previous decade, and especially with the exceptional personal relations between the heads of our states, which contribute to the strengthening of trust, understanding and friendship between our peoples.
In that context, he mentioned the excellent talks between the two delegations led by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during Vučić’s official visit to Cairo in July of this year, when ten bilateral agreements were concluded and the Egyptian-Serbian Business Forum was held.
The improvement of economic cooperation, the further rise of our trade relations and the development of other branches of the economy of mutual interest will be, as stated by Đurić, the main bilateral task in the coming period, adding that the upcoming visit of his Egyptian colleague will undoubtedly give a new impetus to our overall cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
