Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today with Director-General of the European Commission Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert Jan Koopman.
During the meeting, Đurić emphasised that full membership in the European Union is Serbia’s strategic goal and one of its main foreign policy priorities.
In this regard, Serbia is strengthening bilateral relations with EU member states, creating new ties and friendships with those countries with which it has not had the opportunity to cooperate closely, Đurić said.
He reiterated that by the end of 2027, Serbia will implement all necessary reforms needed for joining the European Union, expressing hope that these efforts will be recognised by the other side as well.
According to him, Serbia is and remains a pillar of peace and stability in the region and will continue to work on strengthening good neighbourly relations and cooperation, which is an indispensable part of the enlargement policy.
