Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Jelena Žarić Kovačević participated in a ministerial roundtable in Tirana today as part of the Western Balkans Meeting on strengthening open governance, organised with the support of the Open Government Partnership Support Unit and the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA).

Žarić Kovačević stated that an important reform is currently being implemented, which has exceptional potential to contribute to further opening of the public administration. This reform focuses on the intensive work to improve the regulatory framework and practice in the field of open data and its reuse, she added.
Speaking about Serbia’s major achievements in creating tools and mechanisms for greater citizen participation, the Minister highlighted the eConsultation portal, as well as the e-People’s Initiative on the eGovernment portal, through which signatures are collected electronically.
The Minister also pointed out that a notable 88% of citizens and 97% of businesses are satisfied with the speed of electronic service delivery.
