Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić stressed today, in a conversation with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Serbia Juan José Sanz Aparicio, that the two countries have traditionally good and friendly relations.
Đurić pointed out that there is a mutual interest in continuously improving relations between the two countries in all areas of common importance.
He assessed that strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries is of mutual interest, pointing out that the upcoming Specialised Expo 2027 is an excellent opportunity to further strengthen comprehensive ties.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to Spain for its consistent stance regarding respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, and for the support it provides us in the international arena, when it comes to Kosovo and Metohija.
He pointed out that the unilateral moves of the provisional institutions in Pristina are increasingly drastically endangering the fundamental human rights of the Serbian people and other non-Albanian populations.
According to him, Belgrade will continue to insist on constructive dialogue, advocating for the preservation of peace and stability.
The head of Serbian diplomacy also pointed out that full membership in the European Union is a strategic commitment and a priority of Serbia’s foreign policy, emphasising that Serbia highly appreciates the support that Spain provides it on this path.
