Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko.
Đurić emphasised that bilateral relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation are firmly founded on traditional friendship and mutual understanding.
He expressed gratitude for the support that the Russian Federation provides to Serbia in the international arena on issues of key state and national interest.
The interlocutors discussed a number of topics in the field of bilateral cooperation, and it was noted that it is important that the high level of political relations is also reflected in the field of economic cooperation.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for its consistent support for political stability in Serbia, as well as for the position, based on international law, that foreign interference in political processes in our country is unacceptable.
The topics of discussion icluded the political and security situation in the region, as well as the broader geopolitical situation.
The officials also discussed the upcoming visit of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, to Moscow on the occasion of participating in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, on 9 May.
